We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a Senior Solution Architect to join their team for an initial 3-month contract.
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Solution Architecture, and overseeing a team of approximately 10, the Senior Manager will have responsibility for Solution Architecture for the UK IT Mobile Consumer Solutions estate. The activities will take into consideration all of the required design features that allow a new solution to be provided without compromising the work that is required across CIO by liaising with the other IT departments and other groups (eg Core N&0, Programme Management). Additionally, the Senior Manager - Mobile Solution Architecture will have responsibility for building and maintaining the architecture documentation, methodologies and tools around the systems that the IT teams will provide to serve mobile customers.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Leads IT Mobile Consumer Solution Architecture team, directs solution effort across IT Solutions for Mobile.
- Works with E2E Solution Architecture and non-CIO technical design teams (eg CTO, CNO) to translate requirements of business stakeholders into the delivery of IT services that support business objectives and the end-to-end cohesion of IT services
- Maintains and improves relationships with key customers, peers in CTIO and key vendor partners
- Provides clear leadership to the team ensuring knowledge and skillsets are in place to deliver strategic objectives
- Fosters a customer-focused approach and ensures effective team working
- Encourages ownership and initiative within the team and ensures that lessons are learnt after failures
- Owns the IT system design models, methods and documentation and ensures they are fit for purpose
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Substantial and proven experience within the field and the mobile and telecoms industry - approximately 10+ years
- The ideal candidate should not only bring functional capabilities, but also business acumen and strong facilitation and relationship skills. They must be adaptable and flexible, combining business foresight, customer centricity, and innovation with pragmatism and results orientation.
- The candidate must bring knowledge of the Mobile communications sector. This should include years of experience working with mobile BSS systems including CRM sales and care, rating and charging, provisioning, stock management and logistics, third party services and apps. The candidate should have a working knowledge of mobile network architecture and operational systems.
- Experience in direct management of a highly skilled technical team of subject matter experts.
- From an IT rather than a network background is ideal.
