Description

Specific Job Requirements

  • Responsible for detailed design inputs and output at a platform and service level
  • Producing high level and low-level quality design documentation
  • Representing the team on project engagements, contributing requirements sharing and gathering through to launch
  • Communicating back into the team, summaries of the project scope and requirements
  • Designing of scalable solutions with the highest customer experience standards.
  • Monitor the capacity of our platforms and their associated interfaces, plan upgrades, configuration changes and or migration activities as needed
  • Working closely with test and operations teams and other stakeholders across Technology to ensure the best stability of our solutions
  • Providing technical expertise and consultancy to the team and beyond
  • Support the wider team with core design activities as needed

What I'll be doing - your accountabilities?

    • Great communicator capable of engaging and influencing up to Director level
    • Strong experience of producing great documentation of complex solutions
    • Excellent troubleshooting and low-level diagnostic ability
    • Detailed understanding of voice core networks as well as wider understanding of mobile and BT core networks and services
    • Analytical thinking with the ability to analyse and interpret data, network statistics and financial details.
    • Ability to apply network and commercial awareness to solve problems and drive solutions
    • Strong commercial mind-set and an ability to identify opportunities for efficiency
    • Creates and implements technical solutions for a domain or cross domains/portfolios of work within a specific technology area autonomously, understanding how solutions impact systems internally and/or externally and assessing impact of change.
    • Provides technical quality assurance over work of other engineers through Matrix team structure.
    • Provides sound technical expertise to consult on significant component(s) of a technical solution within a specific domain or cross domain.
    • Identifies opportunities to improve standards of practice within a project, continuously enhancing ways of working.
    • Delivers resolutions to problems that tend to be complex, cross-domain or of high impact to customers.

Capabilities required for the job

  • Telecom/IMS VoLTE/VoWiFi voice network knowledge & skills
  • SIP/Diameter/DNS/BICC/ISUP Protocols and IP Networking knowledge & skills
  • Knowledge on Ericsson IMS platforms (vMTAS, vCSCF, vSBG, vAFG) preferably in Design area
  • Subscriber Provisioning processes and Systems knowledge
  • Virtualisation/Cloud/Containerisation knowledge
  • Platform and Software Security skills
  • IMS Billing knowledge & skills
  • Systems thinking - You provide technical expertise to evaluate the impacts and links between structure, people, process and technology. You think through the whole systems context, new perspectives and insight before taking on projects.
  • Technology design - You partner with the business to understand and analyse user requirements and inform the architecture design for software, systems and networks.
