We currently have a vacancy for an experienced telecoms RAN Performance and Optimisation Engineer.
Working as part of a small, multi-skilled and specialised in RAN Coverage Design, Analysis and Optimisation team, you will be part of the Shared Rural Network (SRN) programme.
Experience requirements and skills
- A degree level in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the RAN Coverage Planning and Optimisation, advanced level.
- Used to working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of radio planning tools and in particular:
- Asset and CellOpt module
- Atoll and ACP module
- In depth knowledge of Geo processing tools such as ESRI Arcmap, QGIS, MapInfo etc. for the purpose of coverage analysis.
- Python Scripting, Oracle database is an advantage.
- Experience in LTE RAN nominal planning and deployment.
- Familiar with BT/EE RAN planning systems - Spectrum, ADCBuild etc, is an advantage.
- Self-motivated, able to work to own initiative and a team player.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Good knowledge of coverage modelling with particular focus on 4G and 5G network.
- Experience with coding and automation.
Responsibilities
- Analysing and optimising current and forecasted coverage footprint to make sure BT/EE coverage commitments to SRN programme are met.
