Description
Network Engineers- To provide technical expertise for the delivery and support of the Group's network. This will include the triage and liaison with third party Service Providers for WAN service interupptions
- Provide effective incident and problem diagnosis and resolution utilising other internal and external support teams when required, taking ownership where appropriate
- Assistance with life cycle management audits
- Assistance with validating existing documentation and consolidating into a central repository
- Assisting with further technical documentation
- Assisting in documenting existing processes
Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Functional/Technical (Role Specific)
- Advanced understanding in the installation and administration of related network systems within a large scale corporate environment
- Excellent knowledge of network and security infrastructure deployment in a multi-site environment
- Key stakeholder management - able to provide reassurance and clarity on technical issues and plans to senior management.
- Strong customer focus.
- Demonstrable security/network problem diagnosis & resolution skills
- Interest in emerging technology and proactive approach to self-development
- IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Service provision
- A proven ability to develop and maintain high quality documentation
- Excellent working knowledge of network, security and telephony technologies including:
- Network switching and routing across Cisco and HP hardware and software
- Cisco Meraki Software Defined WAN
- F5 load balancing and Application Delivery Controllers
- Data centre and cloud connectivity
- Checkpoint Firewalls
- ARUBA wireless networks
- Forecepoint Proxy Servers
- OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols
- WhatsUp Gold network monitoring
- Awareness of financial services industry, markets and competitors
- Awareness of how financial services organisations operate and the associated regulatory environment
