This is a fantastic opportunity to work as a contract Bioinformatics Data Engineer for a major pharmaceutical company, working remotely and outside IR35.
This Bioinformatics Data Engineer will perform exploratory data analysis of internal and external datasets. You will write code to automate the extraction, transformation and loading of the data in our knowledge graph
The key skills for this Bioinformatics Data Engineer role are:
- Deep expertise in computational biology
- Experience with at least one of: CRISPR screening data, NGS data, omics data, GWAS/PheWAS data, RWE data, protein/protein interaction data
- Strong coding skills (Python or Scala)
- Experience in data wrangling
- Knowledge of SQL and experience in querying APIs
The desirable skills for this Bioinformatics Data Engineer role are:
- Experience in building knowledge graphs and integrating ontologies
- Previously developed CI/CD pipelines and leveraged cloud computing
- Knowledge of semantic modelling: RDF(S), OWL, SKOS, SPARQL, SHACL, TTL
- Cheminformatics or high throughput screening knowledge
- Experience in network biology, knowledge graph or related fields
