For a project at our client‘s site, an international bank based in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced
Senior Java Developer / Big Data Developer
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the development of the GTS Data Platform and aim to build a scalable platform for sourcing data belonging to Global Trading Solutions division of Global Markets.
Your Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in software development using Scala and Java languages combined with experience in building data-intensive solutions with the use of Big data technology
- Well versed in building data streaming solutions using Apache Flink and/or Apache Spark Streaming (ideally both)
- Versed with Big Data technology stacks: HDFS, YARN, Impala, Kudu, HBase, Zookeeper, etc
- Experience with data modelling and SQL query language
- Practical knowledge with the following Big Data platforms Cloudera / Hortonworks / and Databricks and Elastic technology stacks (Elastic / Logstash / Kibana)
- Used in working with agile methodology and some basic project management skills
- Able to shape the software architecture and experience in successfully integrating emerging open-source technologies
- Fluent in English
Your Responsibilities:
- Developing software components, responsible for sourcing intraday and end-of-day data and extracting analytical insights from the datas
- Participating in the design and technology review of the software components developed in the team
- Responsible for the overall architecture of the solution with the use of the latest technologies available in the bank
- Working to streamline development process and to improve software performance
- Contributing to integration testing (automated and manual) efforts as required
- Cooperation with platform management and other team members on the requirements, preparing the releases and delivering the applications to production
- Assisting to resolve incidents involving the Production system (3rd level support)
