Position Description:
The Database Administrator performs enterprise level database administration using the Oracle tool suite to install databases, implement Scripting, tuning, backups, monitoring, failover and data protection, recovery, security and integrity.
The position requiring 5+ years of DBA experience using at least the latest two versions of Oracle including managing logins, troubleshooting problems, automation through Scripting and modifying database structures to ensure performance and data integrity. Experience should include history supporting critical operations in a 24x7 environment.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • 5 + years of DBA experience.
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager 10gR5 Grid Control
  • Strong skills in Oracle performance tuning
  • Oracle 10gR2
  • Command line experience with Windows bit,
  • Scripting languages such as PowerShell, Perl and Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting and Visual Basic Script Host
  • Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
  • DBArtisan, TOAD, or similar tool(s)
  • Oracle HA (High Availability) experience with DataGuard
  • Automatic Storage Management (ASM)
  • Recovery Manager (RMAN)
  • Storage of Oracle Databases on a SAN/NAS
  • Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Oracle 11g,
  • Oracle Application Server 10gR2
  • Perl modules and database connectivity
  • UNIX and Windows client connectivity tools such as Hummingbird, SSH, NetOP, and Microsoft Remote Desktop.
  • Tru64 UNIX v5.1, Red Hat Enterprise v4 command line.
  • Oracle Database Administration 10gR2certification
  • PowerShell or VB desired
  • DBA experience with SQL server and/or Sybase a big plus
