Market Leading Client require a Safety Engineer to join a busy department.
Key Responsibilities are;
Leading the generation and preparation of safety arguments and evidence for Safety Cases. Preparing and gaining approval for updates to Safety Cases and presenting the results to Senior Managers, Safety Department and the CAA Safety Regulation Group. Preparing safety plans for Projects which define efficient and effective safety management processes and arrangements that result in a safe system going into operation and ensure that adequate safety documentation will be produced in a timely manner.
The following experience is required:
Systems-Level
- Experience of constructing safety arguments and preparing safety cases
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-882C, IEC 61508 or DEF.STAN. and the processes they require
- Knowledge of CAP670 or DEF.STAN. safety objectives
- Experience of using Goal Structuring Notation (GSN)
- Experience of complying with CAP670
- Experience of Human Factors techniques applied in a safety-related context
- Experience of using Claims Argument Evidence (CAE) trees
Software-Specific
- Experience of constructing safety arguments for software intensive systems
- Working experience of EUROCAE/ED-12B or RTCA/DO-178B
- Knowledge of EUROCAE/ED-109 or RTCA/DO-278
- Knowledge of IEC , IEEE Std.12207, or DEF.STAN.
General skills:
- Numerate and literate - capable of presenting complex technical issues and arguments to the layman
- Experience of Air Traffic Management or Airport systems
- Experience of Communications, Navigation and Surveillance systems in an aviation context
