Our client in the Cleveland area is looking for a Front End Developer for a 6 month project. This position could end up going longer term or potentially could lead to an in-house position.
Job Summary:
The Front End Developer will be responsible for creating Front End HTML implementations based on the works of graphic design and the development specification. A skilled Front End Developer has an excellent command of HTML and CSS augmented with JavaScript to develop prototypes quickly. The successful Front End Developer is team oriented, leading in their area of expertise. The team provides services that supply the entire organization, including the design and development of new services, as well as maintenance of existing systems. The role requires a great deal of interaction with the various teams within the organization, enabling the technology group to execute on projects in alignment with client objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain and modify web architecture and coding for the site
Program and maintain site coding standards for clients
Implement the latest technologies specifically HTML, CSS, XML, XSL, DHTML and JavaScript
Assist with defining and maintaining code standards
Manage any new coding and development needs including integration of video, widgets, newsletters, blogs, podcasts, templates, etc.
Collaborate with graphic design, user experience and development departments to maintain creative and efficient production processes.
Keep current on new technologies and trends; opportunities and integration; and coding for email and social media outlets
Build mockups and prototypes to communicate and refine product/feature concepts
Contribute scalable, production-ready code for user-facing features
Develop reusable application components
Promote best practices for web user experience
Possesses an intimate knowledge of content management solutions and how they can be used in leveraging knowledge and expertise to further business objectives
Designs and codes superior technical solutions, keeping within usability guidelines and Web standards
Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions
Researches and introduces new technologies, integrating disparate systems and offering advanced solutions
Participates in creating development specifications, aligning the overall strategy, business needs and client requirements
Communicates and enforces coding standards
Presents technology solutions and development methodologies at developer meetings
Successfully manages allotted work time within budget and project schedule, proactively communicating delays or issues to team leads and department heads
Consistently delivers high-quality solutions and services to clients
Makes educated recommendations for customers using Web-based solutions to further business objectives
Collaborates closely with account service as well as design and standards teams for an integrated approach towards deliverables
Contributes to the success and growth of Optiem and actively contributes to corporate knowledge base
Trains and mentors other employees with less experience or narrow-based knowledge
Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes, along with possible solutions
Delivers beyond expectations; not 'just another employee'

Website and/or email design creation experience
