Description
- Provide technical systems support to ITS customers; particularly for UNIX and related technologies
- Provide ongoing level 1, 2 and 3 desktop support to customers.
- Maintain relationships with other support groups
- Provide documentation that can include:
- Project Deliverables
- Nominated reports
- Technical design, whitepapers, architectural, options papers or process documents where requested.
- Technical reviews
- Infrastructure documentation for systems deployed in production.
- Production system deployment plans
- Work instructions
Key Competencies:
- Excellent knowledge and hands on experience with Installing, Configuring and Supporting UNIX operating systems including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Sun Solaris. Experience in IBM AIX would be an advantage
- Knowledge and hands on experience in LDAP, NFS, Samba. Experience with Puppet would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and hands on experience in VMware enterprise products.
- Provide ongoing level 1, 2 and 3 desktop support to customers.
- Professional skills (ie Project management, report writing, problem management etc.)
- Excellent knowledge and hands on experience with Installing, Configuring and Supporting Microsoft Windows XP, Server 2003
- Knowledge and hands on experience in Active Directory, GPO's WSUS
- Knowledge and hands on experience in Microsoft Exchange 2007, McAfee Enterprise Antivirus, Microsoft SQL and Veritas NetBackup.
