Fantastic opportunity to join a Leading Energy Organisation based in CBD. You will be responsible for supporting the SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security.Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system.
  • Work to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high resilience and performance tuning.
  • To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
  • Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL and Oracle development.
  • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
  • Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs.

Security:

  • Support all IT physical and environmental security by controlling access to business information/systems.
  • Support management to ensure that a high level of service quality exists, that all areas are supported, and that requests are dealt with efficiently to ensure minimal IT downtime.
  • Comply with all Occupational Health & Safety legislation and promote safe work practices and environment.
  • Comply with IT department procedures ensuring system security and availability are at high standard and fully complied with.
  • Ensure all staff complies with the security standards at all times and inform IT Operations TL of any virus issues or security breaches safeguarding the integrity of the businesses IT systems. 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • In depth SQL Server Database Administration experience and Oracle.
  • Good communicator, attention to detail, high organisational skills,
  • Technically confident with the ability to suggest business process improvements.  
  • MCDBA or MCITP - Database Administrator highly desirable
