An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive experience to join this leading telecommunications company. The successful candidate will need to have experience of Solidworks or Pro-Engineer, and electronics packaging. 6-9 month contract. Based South West UK.
Role: To develop indoor and outdoor enclosures for wireless communications equipment.
Essential skills and experience required:
- competent in design of both die cast aluminium and folded sheet metal components for medium volume manufacture.
- Experienced in the use of design tools including Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks and ideally Flowtherm.
- Capable of structural and thermal modelling.
- Experienced in ensuring standards compliance and running compliance trials.
- Able to control and monitor external manufacturers from prototyping to tool manufacture and trialing to production manufacture.
Education: Degree qualified in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or Applied mechanics.
