Swim Social Work Recruitment are looking to recruit a Social Worker to join a Parental Substance Misuse Team based in Sutton. This is a full time role for 3 months initially.

You be GSCC registered and have substantial post qualifying experience within Parental Substance Misuse to be suitable for this role.

Your job will be;
*To ensure an earlier response in the detection of substance misusing parents and children who are/may at risk of harm from this.
*To support and undertake direct work [including some group work] with children of substance misusing parents, when possible and appropriate, to ascertain their views of what is happening to them, to their parents, and to their family.
*To review, plan and process case work in supervision.
*To provide consultation services to the Maternity Safeguarding forum.
*To provide specialist input by attendance and/or submitted reports to statutory child welfare proceedings [i.e. Court proceedings, Child Protection Conferences, Core Group Meetings, CIN Reviews and Professionals Meetings].
*To provide substance misuse-related training to social workers, midwives, health visitors, teachers, and others who work with children and families.
*To maintain contact with local substance misuse treatment service providers to facilitate referrals and discuss treatment strategies.
*To provide a source of substance misuse information, advice, literature and research to social workers and other professionals.
*To attend conferences, trainings and networking events focusing on substance misuse-related issues.
*To document all work, keeping accurate statistics regarding SPSMS.
*To provide support and direct input to a small number of very high risks 'beyond MARAC' cases and where there has been a history of non engagement with other services
