Description
Swim Social Work Team are looking to recruit a Qualified Social Worker in the Child Protection Team based in Luton. This is a 3 month, full time position.Your job will be to:
*Complete professional assessments of need and risk in respect of service users and carers using the department's criteria for children in need and significant harm
*Taking the lead role and responsibility, you co-ordinate the multi agency approach to prevent and address child protection issues and children in need
*Undertake statutory duties under the Children Act 1989 and other legislation and guidance relating to service users and carers e.g. care proceedings, arrangements for adoption/permanency, risk assessments and investigations in relation to the protection of children
*Including arrangements for obtaining and carrying out Court Orders, attending court as the representative and providing instruction to legal counsel
*Keep appropriate case records, statistics and information
*Provide case reports and witness statements for Court when required
You must have the following experience:
*At least 3 years experience of working in a Child Protection Team
*Able to produce case conference reports
*Able to work with complex and challenging cases, where there may be issues of vulnerability and risk with minimum supervision
*Able to maintain high quality records, write clear, concise reports and correspondence dealing with complex issues
You will need the following qualifications:
*Social Work degree / DIPSW
*GSCC registration
