Senior Business Analyst to join a Global Banking and Markets Finance IT department servicing the Finance and Product Control business functions across the organisation.

Major programme under way is to implement the Finance Transformation Platform within GB&M providing core technology tools for Finance, incorporating the Implementation of a new General Ledger and a new Financial Data Store.

Responsibilities included for data sourcing: 

  • Liaising with Front and Back Office system teams.
  • Analysis of Front and Back Office systems from a data sourcing perspective.
  • Manage requirements across multiple asset classes
  • Data sourcing functional design for processing the incoming data
  • Data mapping/translation from source system feeds (including XML and CSV formats) to FTP data structures
  • Work closely with business accounting rules team
  • Involvement in testing
  • Analysis of downstream system feed requirements both from a data attribute perspective
  • Downstream extract functional design
  • Carry out unit testing
Applicants should have the following attributes:
  • A broad knowledge across one or more Global Markets products from a trade attribute and life cycle event perspective
  • Experience of working on financial control projects
  • Knowledge of trade flow from trade inception through to settlement
  • At least 5 years experience in the financial services sector of which the last 3 years was carrying out a project business analysis role.
  • Experience of data sourcing in a project role
Ideally candidates should have experience of:
  • Implementing an Accounting Rules Engine, Trading Sub-Ledger or GL (revenue, not expenses)
  • Accountancy Qualification (ACCA or CIMA)
  • SQL - MS Access and Oracle
  • Visio
