Duties:
A credit professional responsible for credit risk structuring of transactions and sanctioning covering the Regulated Mortgage segment as well as Non Regulated and Trust mortgages, providing credit input and expertise to the segment relationship teams, delivering a Credit service that ensures achievement of the teams risk and business objectives, ensuring the optimal quality of the credit portfolio by application of best practice in decision-making.

Must have:
Credit Risk Management:
Ensure the highest standard of credit quality through the structure, sanctioning, monitoring and control of credit applications and maintenance of these standards both personally and as part of the Credit Risk Team.
Delivery of professional advice on industry and product specialism and competitor activity where appropriate
Exercise judgement and discretion in the evaluation and approval/decline of credit proposals, which lie outside credit policy as well as those within.
Responsibility for personal adherence to governance, compliance and lending portfolio controls.
Maintain a close working relationship with Relationship Managers and segment heads/team leaders across the Business.
The right candidate will have excellent technical credit sanctioning skills, along with business awareness and specific industry awareness. Detailed knowledge of risk management policy, procedures and pricing.
Knowledge of credit policies, pricing and strategies relative to the credit function and also credit related product knowledge.
Of particular importance will be experience in Regulated Mortgage credit assessment and the ability to maintain high volumes whilst analysing each deal based on its own merits.

Professional/technical experience
Strong intellect, balanced by a practical and pragmatic approach and decisiveness
Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with presentation skills
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a very rapidly changing environment

Language skills
Fluent English speaking and writing is essential for this position.
