Geospatial .NET Software Engineer with Arc/GIS

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This software engineering position is part of an IT service team developing and maintaining enterprise software solutions supporting a federal civilian agencys geospatial business applications.
The position is responsible for performing software requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, verification and validation, and maintenance of custom geospatial desktop and web-based solutions. Analyzes and documents software requirements, prepares detailed design specifications, develops software interfacing with other systems and services, creates and implements test plans, participates in code reviews, develops installation packages and other lifecycle documentation. The development environment includes C#, Silverlight and .NET framework/ArcGIS/ArcSDE/SQL Server 2008.
Will use knowledge of software lifecycle processes to ensure quality applications are designed, tested and delivered. The position involves customer interaction and support during requirements gathering, systems integration, acceptance testing, software troubleshooting and during the operation and maintenance phase of the software life cycle. The software engineer will work on problems of diverse scope and will be responsible for software results in terms of code quality, following coding standards, delivery schedule, and management requirements. The position may lead to responsibilities in the technical direction, leadership, and mentoring of more junior staff and will regularly interact with functional peer group, managers, and customer staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 5+ years related experience, or a Masters degree in computer science and 3+ years of experience in software development, or equivalent.
Extensive knowledge developing software using ESRI ArcObjects and/or ArcGIS Server technology is required.
Must be proficient in developing major software applications in a C#/ArcGIS/SQL Server environment or .NET ArcGIS Server web application development.
Must be able to pass a US government background investigation, which requires the candidate be a US Citizen, Green card holder or EAD.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Experience with large scale geospatial solution design and development using ESRI technology using .net technologies.
Expertise with WCF and SQL Server geodatabase design and tuning is a plus.
