A client based in Swindon is looking for several mechanical design engineers - jigs and tools - automated manufacturing equipment. This will be for an initial 6 month contract.

Role:
The candidate will be working on mechanical design of power train equipment, automated equipment, machining equipment, machining jigs, fixtures & pallets.
(Engine related NOT PRODUCT DESIGN).

He/she will need to mechanical design solutions for new model implementation onto line. (Machining & assembly related - Engine). Also standard Parts procurement/Sourcing, Supplier Support, development and control.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years industrial experience
  • Experience in mechanical design, draughting, parts lists, detailing, and geometrical tolerance.
  • Tooling design/Tool making.
  • CAD operation in: Cadam 2d, Helix 2d, solidworks 3d or Catia V5 3d.
  • Microsoft Proficient: Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Current drawing standards. (2d output).
  • Customer liaison.

    Desirable:
  • Hydraulic, pneumatic & basic electrical control systems.
  • Large and Small Project Control/Supervision.
  • Machinery directive/machine building knowledge.
  • CE marking & requirement knowledge.
  • Design risk assessment capability.
  • FMEA knowledge.
  • Aluminium & Steel cutting techniques. Materials technology & process planning knowledge.
