Financial Analysis (insurance)

To manage the production & reporting of regular and accurate analysis of financial performance across a range of metrics including IFRS operating profit, shareholder cash emergence, and MCEV profit. (MCEV experience not essential)

Key accountables include:

  • Financial Reporting
  • Manage the analysis & reporting of the life business profitability reporting for internal MI and external reporting purposes. Profitability is measured by UK GAAP, IFRS, MCEV and Cash measures.
  • Develop the profitability reporting processes and analysis tools, initiating systems enhancement projects where required
  • Closely interact with business areas and SBU teams to understand the reasons for changes in the main drivers of profitability and to understand expected changes
  • Manage the analysis of one-off impacts on profitability closely liaising with other Finance teams to understand one offs in their areas (tax, actuarial, investment accounting)
  • Liaise with external auditors in respect of their Profitability related questions and analytical reviews.
  • Interact closely with Company Accountants to both share and leverage knowledge in respect of profitability trends

    Provide analysis and reporting to support ad-hoc decision making and requests from Finance Executives Provide support to the production of presentations for external parties such as ratings agencies and financial analysts as they relate to Profitability
