Our client is the nation's leading brand in the DJ booking space with a strong foothold within the retail sector. Since 2002, The client has booked in-store DJs at more than 15,000 retail events across North America including events for Bloomingdale's, Gap, Sephora and many others. This position will be focused primarily on creating new retail-client relationships from the top-down, to grow the corporate DJ booking business. A secondary function will be the creation and implementation of strategies to move into a variety of additional sectors, including but not limited to hotels/resorts, sports arenas, brands/agencies. Candidates should have both a strong interest and experience in business and partnership development within the retail space and the others listed above, and an interest/background in music is certainly a plus.

Responsibilities
- Work with the senior management team to develop, deploy and oversee a comprehensive retail-focused business development strategy across the corporate events division
- Leverage existing relationships to help meet goals
- Meet and exceed revenue objectives for client acquisition
- Create and continually improve sales materials across various mediums (PowerPoint, PDF, web, video, social media, etc.)
- Develop and maintain the processes and tools to support and track BD opportunities as well as managing schedules and deliverables
- Mine and develop strategic partnerships leading to significant revenue
- Lead pitches and meetings (by phone and in-person)
- Comfortably navigate the CMO and senior management landscape
- Structure/deliver proposals and negotiate deals with prospective clients
- Creatively explore, identify and target new areas of growth beyond those listed above
- Drive business development pipeline including calls, meetings, new client bookings, etc.
- Manage regular email and other marketing campaigns
- Identify and attend any relevant conferences or tradeshows
- Work with other members of the events team on corporate event sales and execution where appropriate

Qualifications
- 10+ years successful sales and business development experience in the retail sector
- An existing rolodex of relevant contacts
- Proven experience and passion for sales and business development
- Excellent communication skills and writing ability
- Must be willing to occasionally be flexible in work hours to get projects done
- Self-starter who is confident in an entrepreneurial environment and has a track record of using analytic skills to proactively develop new insights that drive operational strategy
- Identify and prioritize opportunities and issues, and design strategies and processes to continuously improve the organization
- Excellent leadership, energy, judgment, communication, interpersonal, management and analytical skills required
- Passionate about growing and building a business to its full potential
- Music interest, experience, and sensibility a plus
- Team player that thrives in a self starter/start-up environment
- Bachelor's degree and strong academic track record

Top 3-5 must have skills-
