To assist the Insurance Tax Manager support the Insurance Separation Programme through engagement of individual separation work steams and planning for issues that affect the Insurance tax function pre and post separation
Key Accountabilities
What is this role accountable for delivering? Recommended maximum 10 accountabilities;
* Support the Tax Manager to understand the impact on systems and processes of separation of the insurance division.
* Engagement with payroll separation to understand payroll tax compliance and governance
* Engagement with separation work streams to understand tax issues, dependencies and governance
* Support the Tax Manager in building and developing a Insurance stand alone tax function that is independent.
* Provide support for Year 2 Senior Accounting Certification within the group
* Ad hoc tax queries
Key Competencies/level
BUSINESS: Customer Excellence (level 3); Finance Management (level 4)
TECHNICAL: Compliance (Level 4); People Management (Level 3)
PEF: Influencing (Level 4); Developing People (Level 3); Achieving Excellence (Level 4); Communicating (Level 3).
A qualified accountant or qualified tax Adviser (ACA/ACCA/CIOT) with a good understanding of financial accounting, financial systems and operational finance processes.
Direct Tax knowledge gained either through qualification (CTA) or "qualified by experience" preferably in the financial services sector
A proven track record working in direct tax demonstrating problem solving and tax business partnering
Other Significant Role Requirements:

The ability to communicate with senior figures across the organisation with impact
Strong IT skills to include knowledge of tax accounting software packages
Experience of complex technical activities within a regulated environment
Ability to meet deadlines
