Purpose of role
The Bank's Performance and Planning team support the business in achieving success through management information, forecasting, operating and strategic plans and decision analysis.

The role is to provide Finance & MI support to the Bank's business units, this includes:
* Production of monthly Cost and headcount submissions to the Bank's Central teams
* Detailed Cost/Headcount analysis and development of value add excel based MI
* Support of a robust cost forecasting/budgeting model
* Challenging the business on unusual expenditure
* Working closely with financial control teams across all locations to ensure consistency in cost reporting.
* Calculation and Posting of monthly cost accruals in SAP
* To provide cover for existing Business Performance Reporting
* Support to the business on ad hoc queries

Core accountabilities
Preparation of robust Cost MI, Cost Forecasting and Management of the Bank's Cost Base

Role requirements

Essential
* Experience of MI delivery in the Financial Services industry
* Experience/Understanding of core finance processes, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting etc
* Ability to work with minimum supervision and be a self starter
* Exceptional MS-Excel skills and good MS-PowerPoint skills to analyse, summarise, and present data in an efficient and meaningful way
* Good communication skills and the ability to communicate with senior management
* Bookkeeping and General Ledger management
* Detailed knowledge of large company finance functions and how they operate
* Experience of SAP accounting System
* Detailed knowledge of financial modelling techniques and advanced spreadsheet/PowerPoint functionality

Academic and professional qualifications
* Ideally, the role holder will possess the equivalent of a university degree, as well as being a qualuified, finalist or part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CPA)

Language skills
* Ability to successfully and confidently communicate financial information
* Ability to apply both written and oral communication methods on a regular and sustained basis to senior managers
