We are looking for an experienced Front End engineer who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and not afraid to try new things. This is a small engineering team - everyone is a thinker, a problem-solver, and plays a critical role in delivering a product that continually exceeds our internal and external customers' expectations.
What you'll need to excel in this position:
Expertise with JavaScript (4-6 years of experience) and frameworks such as Prototype, jQuery, YUI.
You will be the primary driver of our client side module and should have experience with widget development or done some complex mash-up work.
Extensive experience writing elegant, readable, maintainable HTML and CSS.
A strong working knowledge of AJAX (2-4 years of experience) and DOM.
A good working knowledge of Server Side coding (J2EE).
Solid knowledge of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and building in accessibility from the ground up.
A solid understanding of web technologies such as REST, HTTP, JSON.
A demonstrated ability to work with templates and a dynamic site.
You are a problem solver above all else - you love a challenge as well as a feasible, practical solution.
You are comfortable debugging browser problems with firebug, tamper, web developer, and similar tools.
This is a contract position which requires the candidate to be available to work 40 hours/week, in-house, for at least six months.
