Job Summary:
The Application Server Administrator is responsible to configure clusters, deploy applications and perform administration tasks required to support Weblogic and WebSphere in UNIX, Windows and DB2 environments.
Responsibilities:
Assist in managing all aspects of the Weblogic and WebSphere Application Server environment that supports application integration
Provide technical expertise to functional teams on integration/configuration of peripheral infrastructure with Weblogic and WebSphere, including permission management LDAP, database, Middleware and web Servers
Participate in planning and designing the Application Server architecture to support CFCs goals of implementing Java based applications
Install, configure and administer WebLogic Server 7.x, 8.x, 10.x and WebSphere 6.0, 6.1 on AIX, Linux and Windows platforms, including multiple server instances, clusters and JDBC drivers
Implement NodeManager and/or Deployment Manager
Deploy various types of application packages including JAR, WAR and EAR files
Research and manage the integration and interoperability of tools in this environment
Design, implement, and manage server clustering and maintenance of connection pools and EJBs
Communicate effectively with functional teams and act as liaison during the design, build, and implementation
Utilize a working knowledge of Java development to troubleshoot technical issues
Create and update system documentation
Develop and enforce standards and best practices as defined by the vendor and by CFC IT
Work with team members to provide 24/7 production support
Skills
Required:
Experience building and administering either Weblogic and/or WebSphere Application Server environments (both Weblogic and Websphere preferred)
Experience building and administering application Servers in multiple environments (AIX, Linux, Windows and Mainframe preferred)
Working knowledge of NodeManager and/or Deployment Manager
Working knowledge of application packages
Working knowledge of Java development
Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate effective listening and verbal communication skills
Available for 24/7 on call production support
Team oriented and self motivated possessing effective time management skills
Ability to multi task while providing attention to detail in daily tasks
Ability to quickly assimilate new technologies and skills
Exhibits aptitude for problem solving and possesses the ability to independently research and troubleshoot problems
Strong business and technical writing skills

Experience with IBM Websphere MQ
