Description
Systems Administrator
Maintains computing environment by identifying system requirements, installing upgrades, and monitoring system performance. Assists with the design, development, implementation, and
optimization of Active Directory and messaging systems.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs on site and remote technical support.
- Assists in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources.
- Maintains excellent communication with the IT Manager on all tasks and projects.
- Creates and maintains good technical documentation.
- Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to
include Servers, network equipment, and software applications. - Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for all server backups.
- Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of Client Server software and service packs.
- Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various
vendors for procurement. - Provides emergency on call support on a rotating schedule.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications
- Experience managing/troubleshooting enterprise level Windows based server environments
(Windows Server Server) required - Experience managing/troubleshooting enterprise level, multi site, multi domain Active
- Directory environments (Windows Server ) required
- Experience managing/troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange 2007 required
- Experience managing/troubleshooting Blackberry Enterprise Server environment (installing hotfixes/policy management/troubleshooting mail flows) required
- Experience managing/troubleshooting Office Communications Server preferred
- Experience managing/troubleshooting SMS/SCCM preferred
- Experience managing/troubleshooting VMware View environments preferred
- Experience managing/troubleshooting Cisco security, routing, and switching preferred
Education/Experience
- 4 years system administration experience required
- One or more of the following certifications preferred: MCSA/MCSE 2003, MCITP/MCTS 2008, VCP4, CCNA
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in related field
