Department Overview

The Finance IT department provides development and support activities across the Banks range of Middle Office applications including Product, Financial Control and Operations functions
Product Control are responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Balance Sheet of the bank for revenue related accounts, and providing accurate and timely information to Senior Management. This information enables them to have a complete understanding of all control focused issues within the Investment Bank.

Product Control Group IT (PCG IT) is a sub division of Middle Office IT and responsible for supporting the technological needs of Product Control. As such new systems are developed and existing ones enhanced to meet a constantly evolving set of requirements. The teams' portfolio of applications provides P&L reporting, reconciliations and various control checks for PCG.
The candidate will work on a core global finance platform which will standardise and integrate the Finance processes across all business areas and regions.

Main Function

This role is for a Strong Project Manager to join the global Build Team. This is a large team with a number of parallel work streams responsible for system enhancements and delivery of new features in order to increase the business coverage and functionality.

Main Duties
* Manage and track the delivery of build activities from initiation, through definition, delivery and implementation.
* Liaise with other Service Owners and project managers to ensure coordination of tasks affecting other functional areas.
* Communicate progress with stakeholders.
* Track build issues and risks.
* Work closely with the Test team to ensure Test Plans are realistic and provide full coverage
* Ensure the necessary hand-over notes are delivered/in place to optimise on the benefits of a global team are realised
* Troubleshoot as required to ensure plans are met and early mitigations of potential delays managed.
* Drive increased efficiencies across the team in order to deliver more for less
* Ensure necessary change details are raised ahead of Production releases and rota's in place to support

Person Requirements
Experience required:
* IT Project Management experience covering a full Development project life cycle.
* Strong experience of PnL attribution, PnL explain and PnL validation.
* Strong client liaison and problem solving skills.
* Demonstrate good communication skills at a senior level
* Able to plan across multiple projects - ensuring resource levelling to ensure plans are realistic
* Regular Status reporting
* Risk and Issue Management
* Large scale delivery
* Managing a geographically dispersed team
* Strong MS Office, Visio, Project
* Strong negotiation, influencing and facilitation skills
* Ability to network within a new area, building relationships and influence to meet the project objectives.
* Ability to assimilate information quickly and produce thorough and well researched assessment of situation.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to learn quickly.
* Ability to work effectively upon multiple work items at the same time
* Ability to work in a virtual team.

Preferred Experience:
* Proven Investment Banking experience.
* Knowledge of the front to back transaction life cycle
* Experience of Middle Office IT systems.
* Experience of working with offshore teams.
* Experience of rule based systems and familiarity with BPML and BPEL.
* Excellent knowledge of accounting, financial and product control functions.
* Experience of data migration analysis and definition.
* Understanding of SQL.
* Technical background
* Strong presentation skills.
* Prince 2 or other Project Management certification
* Good Analytical and documentation skills.
