This role provides a real opportunity to contribute to a significant and challenging program of work with a national impact. At the same time, you will be working in an organisation with a strong commitment to the development of its people.

The Role:

  • Assist with the planning and initiation of related projects and develop and maintain project plans, schedules and related project documentation;
  • Monitor progress on the achievement of scheduled milestones;
  • Improve existing project structures where necessary as well as identify and develop changes to project scope;
  • Manage the impacts in conjunction with stakeholders if milestones are not achieved;
  • Manage and coordinate Project Reporting process for related projects;
    Assist Operational Policy staff in the completion of project documentation and identify, document and
  • report on risks in accordance with the Risk Management Plan;
  • Report to the Program Manager, on the related projects ensuring an accurate assessment of project status;
  • Operational planning in regard to ensuring that stakeholders are fully aware of progress and issues arising from the projects;
  • Align projects with the current Project strategy, Project Plan, Stage Plans, and agendas

The Person:

  • High level experience in identifying and analysing the complex sensitive operational issues and initiatives/objectives with national impact and delivery of the necessary approaches to achieve the most effective project outcomes;
  • Highly developed project co-ordination skills and the ability to translate high level project objectives into operational practices:
  • High level skills appropriate to a senior level of government & industry, including clear analysis and expression of complex ideas and issues; and proven ability to consult, negotiate outcomes and develop productive working relationships with stakeholders at local, state and national level;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule and co-ordinate large scale complex projects and deliver expected outcomes. Demonstrated experience with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project is essential.
