JOB TITLE: CAD Design Engineer

LOCATION: Gaydon, Warwickshire

SALARY: 26 p/hr

DURATION: Contract

JOB PURPOSE:

Our Client has a large number of new and exciting product programmes to launch over the next few years. Several of these programmes run in parallel and additional CAD resource is required. The role involves supporting the design and engineering of powertrain systems components including: Fuel, Oil, Cooling, HVAC, exhaust, base engine, transmission and driveline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:

  • Liaise with system engineers to establish component and system requirements.
  • Create package schemes using I-DEAS V13/NX5 in TCE that meet corporate requirements.
  • Liaise with component engineers and suppliers to establish all necessary information in support of design activities.
  • Support package studies and reviews with all necessary information in consideration of all affected areas.
  • Detail components to our Clients drafting standards for release
  • Support engineers with information for part procurement activities
  • Support Programme and Powertrain Checkpoints, Design reviews, Package Meetings & Powertrain PMT meetings where required.
  • Support/Assist engineers in the resolution of Engineering Concerns.
  • Willingness to work with a challenging, multi-project environment.
  • Excellent time management and self discipline

Qualifications & experience:

  • Preferably Educated to Degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Competent with I-DEAS V13 and NX5 preferable.
  • Proven powertrain related design experience
  • Good working Knowledge of TCE
  • A flexible attitude to the range of systems is required
  • Ability to work as part of a small team across multiple programmes
  • Experience of Ford or Jaguar design standards would be beneficial
  • Ability to work to demanding timing constraints
