Description

  • Perform simple to moderately complex first-article, on-line, final dimensional and receiving inspections of products and components as well as raw materials, working from engineering drawings, procedures and external standards and using typical inspections equipment such as micrometers, thread gauges, calipers, optical comparators, concentricity gauges and height and depth gauges.
  • Perform receiving inspections of raw materials and component parts using typical inspection equipment (see above).
  • Perform component testing utilizing various inspections equipment such as tensile testers, force gauges and custom equipment including programmable inspection machines.
  • Perform in-process and finished goods packaging inspection as necessary.
  • Complete and maintain all QA paperwork in accordance with established procedures and manufacturing practices including the generation of first article reports, discrepant material reports and QA history log sheets.
  • Support the qualification/validation of new products/process projects, including support on Quality Engineering studies.
  • Interact with packaging and assembly personnel to improve on overall quality of product entering into the QA
  • Inspection department, reducing rejections found and reported in Quality Assurance.
  • Perform inspections following prescribed written procedures and engineering specifications, ensuring procedures and specifications are current adequate for the inspections performed.
  • Provide feedback to QA Management on documents requiring updates or error correction.
  • Interact with personnel from departments outside of the Quality Inspection department, ie Manufacturing, Materials, Engineering, etc./
  • Generate non-conformance reports for submitted product found out of specification.
  • Create and perform simple data entry tasks and procedure changes as requested by QA Management, using typical MS Office software.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to detect any potential defect in a repetitive operation.
  • Ability to analyze product non-conformances.
  • Ability to make product judgments against specifications and performance standards.
  • Ability to judge raw material against specifications.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tensile testing equipment, comparators, force gages, vision systems, thread gages and programmable inspection machines.
  • Must have good documentation skills to maintain neat and accurate records.
  • Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office and database applications.
  • Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Working knowledge of sampling techniques, Good Manufacturing Practices and other regulatory standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments within the company.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED plus three (3) to five (5) years previous experience as Quality Inspector or Manufacturing Machine Operator in a GMP or other highly regulated industry required.
  • Previous final packaging
  • inspections in a clean room environment a plus.
  • ASQ certification a strong plus.
