Description
Job Purpose:
Responsible for engineering solutions, administration, compliance, change management, disaster recovery, and all other aspects needed to maintain and support Informatica.
Duties:
Responsible for maintaining Informatica systems software and the runtime environment.
Working with existing team to maintain Informatica PowerCenter v8.1.1 until upgrade to v.9.1
Applying hotfixes as needed to Informatica PowerCenter v8.1.1
Work with existing team on current plan and upgrade of Informatica PowerCenter from v8.1.1 to v.9.1
Perform implementation and rollout of Informatica Metadata Manager
Provide technical support for the Informatica environment
Work with infrastructure teams to ensure an effective operating environment including throughput, repository sizing, capacity planning, monitoring and maintenance
Work with our developer teams to advise on standards and tool usage
Informatica repository performance tuning
Provide secondary support for OS administration and system security.
Netezza DBMS experience as it relates to Informatica performance tuning
Architectural/Engineering application and data management.
Backup/Recovery of Informatica software, repository and configurations including archiving and back-up planning
IBM specific health-check, application admin, patching, production deployments, AutoSys integration, version upgrades and incident management.
Operational support as it relates to Informatica: repository backups, repository maintenance, log purging, web-services, app config, driver config, LDAP config, process maintenance, activity log monitoring, and resource contention.
Application Problem Resolution - Tier 3 support
SQL Server 2008 DBMS experience as it relates to Informatica administration
Disaster recovery design, execution and documentation (runbooks).
Open tickets with INFA to resolve issues
Research Informatica related issues and work with developers and the vendor when necessary
Automate routine tasks where appropriate
Familiarity with PowerExchange, Data Explorer, and pmrep Scripting
Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
Hands-on software troubleshooting skills
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Excellent documentation skills with both technical and non-technical information for the creation and maintenance of documentation, deployment diagrams and check-lists
Perform other tasks as assigned consistent with this level of responsibility.
Skills/Qualifications:
3+ years Informatica Administration
3+ years in Microsoft Windows Server
3+ years Microsoft SQL Server
Strong communication skills
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, peers, and management through written and verbal communication.
Ability to communicate with customers, internal departments, and other outside parties in a professional manner.
Effectively communicate with developers and quality assurance staff in the resolution of technical problems.
