JOB TITLE: Senior Engineer - Body Structures
LOCATION: Gaydon, Warwickshire
SALARY: 26 - 28 p/hr Ltd
DURATION: Contract
Job Purpose:
To design and develop Structural Mouldings, Body Panels and Closures for future programmes.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Create design briefs and part level targets for all new components.
- Provide engineering feasibility to Design for AA1 and AA2 surface releases.
- Develop compatible designs from initial concept to production release, in conjunction with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing and suppliers.
- Key fact holder for selected commodities (technology and applications).
- Supervise assigned team members with technical direction and priorities.
- Apply failure mode avoidance tools and processes (DoE, DFMEA, DFA etc).
- Support Virtual Series events through to FDJ.
- Ensure engineering releases are completed to the highest quality and in time.
- Support DV test plan with representative prototype components.
- Ensure PD concerns are resolved to the highest quality and in time.
- Raise engineering deviations if appropriate to achieve engineering sign-off.
- Complete engineering signoff/approval of component performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- An engineering degree (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in automotive body engineering is preferred.
- Intuitive knowledge of fundamental engineering theory.
- Experience of leadership or clear evidence of leadership ability.
- CAD literate (ideally user), preferably IDEAS/NX.
- Self starting and self motivated.
- Excellent organisational skills.
