Our client is a major Australian financial institution that boasts some of the largest and most complex technical systems in Australia. Due to an ever increasing demand on the complexity of the environment and requirement to manipulate data there is a requirement for Linux/Unix professional.
Working as part of a larger Infrastructure/Business Intelligence team responsible for the engagement with internal and external service providers to maintain the day to day operational stability of the network and its tools. This will see you collaborate closely with Solution Design teams to develop recommendation around service enhancements. This is a very large and complex environment that will see you work as part of specific operations team responsible for performance of server infrastructure environment.
The role is a senior systems engineer involving primarily BAU 2/3 level support and development activities, adhering to policy standards and project delivery. Responsibilities include building, administering, configuring and deploying RHEL through Red Hat Satellite. You must be highly technically, be an effective communicator continually focusing on systems development and process improvements.
Experience Required:
- 5 years+ experience in Linux/Unix engineering or systems administration
- Outstanding Skills in RHEL, Red Hat Satellite, Cloud Technologies and Methodologies - IAAS and IPAS
- Excellent experience around Capacity Planning, Performance Tuning, Installations and Upgrades
- Technologies exposed to: MySQL, PHP, Perl, Bash, Python, Ruby, Java
- Must have good experience with Virtualisation, including VMWare
- Knowledge of Apache environment is highly regarded
- Experience working in a complex/high pressure environment
- Excellent Teamwork and Interpersonal skills to communicate with multiple business users
