Global Solaris Zones Capacity Analyst
CCCi has an opportunity for a Global Solaris Zones Capacity Analyst to work with our large Computer Services client. Candidate will be the primary capacity analyst for all Solaris Zones environments globally. This position is responsible for the management of all the environments as well as the forecasting of all capacity needs in the Zones environment. Responsibilities include managing the virtualization projects of physical Servers (P2V-Physical to Virtual and V2V Virtual to Virtual and other x2x migrations) and managing standard performance thresholds.
Candidate will need experience with and also be responsible for planning, provisioning and ongoing environment management tasks in support of Zones infrastructure globally. Follow existing and present improved processes and procedures for managing Zones in the environment, including provisioning new VM capacity (new farms, hosts and all storage) Help manage and plan upgrades as required, with minimal impact to the client applications. Manage and report on virtualization activity weekly on all X2X migrations and HW upgrades and activities are completed according to procedure. Define integration points between application support processes and VMware management functions. Managing and planning of all X2X migration projects and capacity monitoring for the Solaris Zones environments globally. Manage and participate in projects for migrations. Participation in support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution for Zones environment globally Management of the schedule for all Integration and BAU work for all Solaris Zones projects globally. Will handle Capacity management and Landing. Perform Landing decision using the provide tool set (Engineer Spreadsheet); Reserve CPU's resources (No. of CPU's); Reserve memory size (Request and allocate storage for Global Zones, schedule migrations as needed) and Perform landing.
