A leading Healthcare Solution provider is currently looking for a Microbiology Technician in Gloucester.
This is an initial 6 month contract which could be extended.

As a member of the QC Microbiology team the role requires sound understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) to carry out routine microbiology tests, environmental monitoring and utilities testing of sterile manufacturing facility in order to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand and comply with the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or Good
Laboratory Practices (GLP) while carrying out all tasks.
Comply with EHS and Quality regulations and policies. Maintain the working environment in safe and tidy conditions based on the defined standard rules and schedules (such as carrying out daily
Health and Safety Checks)
Ensuring all tasks assigned on daily scheduling are completed on time.
Carryout water and product bio burden testing following documented procedures and in accordance
with the stipulated deadline.
Carryout routine microbial monitoring plate reading and total particle monitoring calculations
following documented procedures meeting deadlines. Be able to identify microbial isolates
found on monitoring plates.
Ensure good documentation practices while recording results and maintaining records. Generating QC Microbiology monitoring batch files and preparing test pieces for testing.
Carryout routine temperature & pressure checks and air velocities in the controlled QC Microbiology clean room.
Maintain and monitor stock levels of consumables to include tracking of deliveries, and coordinate purchasing requirements.
Assist the team with non routine analyses, investigations and audit preparation when required.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidate should be educated to HND or degree level in Microbiology or related life science
qualification.
Experience in relevant field is desirable.
Computer knowledge in MS Office and Excel.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Microbiological knowledge for better understanding of testing procedures.
Be able to work as a team, manual dexterity and the ability to adhere to tight deadlines whilst not compromising GMP.

The successful candidate must be able to work as a team in supporting goals and objectives of the department, complying with Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices and meeting Service Level Agreements.
