Business Analyst

The Business Analyst role will be the primary point of contact with the Finance business users.

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
The Business Analyst is responsible for the analysis, documentation and agreement of user requirements, including clear documentation and communication of requirements, running user workshops and participating in testing and training for a range of projects.

More specifically:
* Coordinating and holding user requirements gathering and process definition workshops with the business
* Agreeing documented user requirements with the business, Finance Systems, Application Configuration and IT
* Co-ordinating testing and working through issues with users, Application Configuration and IT
* Monitoring, tracking issues, risks and dependencies on analysis and requirements work

As needed, take the lead on assigned project tasks
* Clear articulation of business requirements and process flows
* Project documents signed-off by multiple stakeholder
* Test activities are executed to the agreed test plan
* Issues and risks are documented and tracked to resolution
* Liase with the project manager to manage stakeholders
* Provide input into weekly team status on all project tasks

Customers/Stakeholders

The candidate will be expected to assist management in building relationships by:
* Working with stakeholders, as directed
* Provide input into key milestones for status meetings
* Assist in management presentations
* Involve Stakeholders in solution development, as necessary
* Issues and risks are documented and tracked to resolution
* Coordination and design of testing and training for new functionality and upgrades

Leadership & Teamwork
* Work within a cross-functional project team that may be globally distributed
* Work closely with Application Configuration, Application Maintenance and Small Business Change, Global Finance Testing, IT Leads, regional and Group Finance teams
* Take a proactive approach in identifying and communicating issues and risks and following through to resolution
* Work across appropriate business lines to obtain cross-functional buy in.
* Deliver solutions according to strategic business objectives
* Balance project standards and strategic objectives with customer expectations

Operational Effectiveness & Control
* Perform in an environment that requires working practices to be transparent, and repeatable while meeting programme quality expectations
* Work towards planned control points and project milestones.
* Identify issues and risks, documenting and communicating so that appropriate Change control, Issue and Risk Management processes can be followed
* Assist the Project Manager on development and maintenance of project plans
* All issues and risks are captured in Clarity and tracked to resolution
Major Challenges (The challenges inherent in the role that require a continual test of the role holder's abilities)
* Mobilise resources to meet project deliverables, including line finance
* Deliver to budget and timescale
Role Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority)
* The role requires working across multiple time zones, and will require a flexible approach and working outside of the normal 9-to-5 work day
* The Business Analyst will work closely with other members of the project team under the direction of the project manger and/or Consolidation Programme Manager
* On a day to day basis, the role holder will be expected to work with little direct supervision and to manage thdeir workload to meet agreed project milestones
Management of Risk (Operational Risk/FIM requirements)
Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy/FIM requirements)
* Ensure solutions are compliant with FIM principles
* Work with business users and the project team to develop and implement effective controls
Role Dimensions (eg balance sheet size, lending/expenditure limits, size/volume of transactions, budget. in USD'000)
* Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications (For the role - not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.)

Technical Skill Requirements
* Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and analysis skills
* In-depth Finance background around one of Management reporting, Statutory and/or Regulatory reporting
* Understands the full project life cycle from requirements through to implementation
* Ability to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of management

Educational Requirements
* Graduate with good honors degree
* Qualified accountant
* Some formal business analysis qualification desirable

Required Work Experience
* Experience of working as a project Business Analyst in a medium to large organisation
* Proven experience in analysis, problem solving documentation and working to tight deadlines whilst achieving good quality outputs
