Hello, our education client in East Bay is in need of a Mainframe programmer with DB2 Stored Procedures expertise for a long term contract through July 2012.
Here is the job description:
Work with assigned functional personnel, application programmers, and other technical contacts to analyze, debug, test and migrate existing applications on the IBM mainframe.
Following developed technical specifications, write, test and migrate new DB2 Stored Procedures used to support the PeriWeb migration project.
Your work will include:
Documentation for all new DB2 Stored Procedures developed for the project
Communications with Functional Stakeholders using JIRA.
Modified COBOL code worked on the support continued maintenance of existing applications.
Required Qualifications:
A sound and in-depth knowledge of the IBM Mainframe environment.
Competence in performing program analysis and developing workable solutions to existing problems.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Experience developing complex DB2 SQL statements for accessing data within a DB2 database.
Experience using COBOL in CICS/DB2 and batch DB2 programming.
Experience writing DB2 Stored Procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong facilitation and analytical skills, with the ability to establish strong working relationships with all levels of management and staff
Ability to work both independently and on a team.
Proficiency using the Windows office suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in the field of Information Systems or the equivalent
Experience with Eztrieve.
Experience with IDMS.
Experience in multiplatform application environments.
