We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to provide high level specialist advice on and support of an integrated operation of complex applications in a Java Development environment for this large government client.
The Job:
You will be responsible for the following:
- Ensuring the maintenance of defined service levels for this organisation's applications by providing customer focussed, high level specialist advice and support.
- Supervising contracted Application Specialists
- Undertaking complex systems analysis, design, programming and testing in relation to the detailed development and maintenance of software applications and products
- Accurately estimating application development and support tasks
- Performing code reviews against coding standards
- Ensuring on-going delivery of quality service to clients in accordance with agreed service levels.
- Maintaining an extensive working knowledge of current and emerging software development technologies and trends.
- Providing technical leadership to project teams, including designing and developing object-oriented applications, providing mentorship.
- Liaising and assist clients over the life cycle of software developments undertaken by the team.
The Person:
You will bring the following skills to this role:
- You will have a high level of ability and experience in the management and leadership of a team within an IT environment
- You will have a high level of knowledge and experience in the design, development, deployment and support of web centric solutions.
- You will have a high level of knowledge and experience with in design, development, deployment and support on top of Relational Database Management System environment (RDBMS)
- You will have in depth knowledge of current emerging technologies, tools and services for software development environments.
- You will have good analytical skills and the ability to translate business and applications systems issues into solution requirements and develop a product to meet these requirements in a structured environment.
