Swim Social Work Recruitment are looking to recruit an Advanced Social Worker to join an Access to Resources Team based in Tower Hamlets. This role is full time for 3 months.You must hold GSCC registration and have substantial post qualifying experience. Your job will be to;
*Respond to requests for access to records within the required timescales.
*Maintain a monitoring system of requests, files processed and timescales achieved.
*Redact historical Children's Social Care files in response to requests from service users, solicitors and police in line with national and local policies, practices and procedures..
*Provide direct 1:1 social work support to service users accessing their files, understanding the impact this may have on them as appropriate/requested.
*Be sensitive to the possible need for counselling/specialist support and refer on where appropriate
*Manage the allocated budget for specialist counselling at the Tavistock Clinic
*Be aware of compensation issues and liaise with the local authorities legal and insurance departments where appropriate.
*Liaise with other local authorities and voluntary groups working with post care adults and attend the quarterly national Post Care Forum
*Keep up to date with current post care legislation and practice and ensure this is reflected in Tower Hamlets service.
*Liaise closely with Tower Hamlets Adoption Service regarding requests from adopted adults
