The City of Stirling is the largest local government authority in WA and has a population exceeding 200,000. With a strong commitment to sustainability, a specialist Manager is required to lead the Waste and Fleet Operations Business Unit.

Reporting to the Director Infrastructure, you will oversee all waste collection, recycling, disposal and cleaning services plus co-ordinate cost effective plant/fleet management services across the City. You will also participate in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives which drive waste and fleet management outcomes, negotiate and manage service level agreements with external providers, and contribute to local and State government policies and legislation.

Applicants must have demonstrated senior management experience, commercial acumen in a related area and a strong knowledge of waste management technologies and strategies. You will understand fleet management principles and possess superior financial and contract management abilities. Well developed communication and relationship building skills are also essential and relevant business/engineering tertiary qualifications will be well regarded.

This fixed term contract up to five years, offers a salary package of $131K plus super, a private use vehicle and potential bonus. This position is offered on a fixed term contract of up to five years with a base salary of not less than $136,598.84 plus 9% super ($13,659.89). Furthermore, the Council will match additional superannuation contributions to a maximum 6% and provide for the private use of a motor vehicle (package value $15,000). Subject to satisfactory performance, this position may be entitled to a performance bonus of up to 10% of base salary.
