Job Role
We are seeking a Software Developer with solid commercial programming experience in a Microsoft .NET environment. In this role you will primarily develop and maintain applications for the travel industry but you will assist to maintain the operational capacity and uptime of the company's server environment. This is a full time position work from home (remote) role. The successful applicant will be required to have a broadband Internet connection and their own home office equipment.
This position will suit a motivated individual with a degree (or diploma), and or suitable experience in Software Development. Systems administration of Microsoft environment would be an advantage. The position also requires some out of hours work for system monitoring and maintenance, new deployments, and on the infrequent occasion to cover other operational roles and calls with overseas clients. The initial contract period will be for 3-6 months with view to a full time position.
Duties and Responsabilities:
- Design, develop and maintain applications in C#, VB.NET applications to run in a Microsoft .NET environment.
- Design, develop and maintain web services client and server applications in C#.
- Design, develop and maintain database schemas for MySQL.
- Design, develop, execute and document unit and system test plans, cases and scripts.
- Provide problem and issue analysis, identification and resolution.
- Design, develop and execute deployment plans, packages, scripts and documentation.
- Assist in the operation of the company's IT infrastructure and services including monitoring, troubleshooting, deployments and DRP.
Essential Skills:
- Extensive experience of C#, VB.NET software development for a Microsoft server enterprise environment.
- Experience with MySQL database programming.
- Experience in administration of Microsoft server in an enterprise environment.
- Experience of Microsoft IIS administration.
- Experience with network administration and problem resolution
- Experience with CISCO VPN, Routers.
- Able to work remotely, independently and as part of a distributed team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable and consistent.
Desirable Skills:
- Travel industry experience.
- Travel GDS experience.
- Professional consulting experience.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication skills.

Home Office
The employment contract requires the successful applicant to maintain a home office including an Internet connection, office furniture (desk, chair, etc.), stationery, headset for Skype communications and telephone.
