Job DescriptionSenior Oracle Applications DBA
We are seeking a Senior Oracle Applications DBA for our Support Quarters location in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities:
• Install, upgrade, maintain, monitor, patch, and tune Oracle Applications eBusiness R12, Oracle WebLogic Server, 10g Application Server, and related databases
• Provide support to developers in performance tuning and trouble-shooting, including SGA analysis, latch contention analysis, disk subsystem tuning, and SQL tuning of Oracle and custom views and queries
• Complete assigned projects independently such as upgrade of Oracle Applications R12 and Oracle 10gAS server, 11g Fusion Middleware including Weblogic, OBIEE, Discover, etc
• Maintain and develop backup/recovery processes for Oracle Applications installations using RMAN, BCV or scripts for online and offline backups, Disaster Recovery
• Create monitors and alerts for user sessions, concurrent processes, table extents and locks for production and test/development environments
• Oracle patch analysis, planning, and application for Application and Database
Required Job Skills
• Good understanding of the Oracle eBusiness Suite R12 architecture and the various Application tier and Database tier components: Underlying objects, schemas/products, database objects, file system structure, tables, views, packages, procedures, sequences, indexes, and constraints
• In-depth working knowledge of both UNIX/LINUX and Windows environments
• Good work ethic, willing to work hard, and eager to learn new technologies
• Excellent team player with strong communication and client-facing skills
• Minimum of 5 years experience as Oracle Applications DBA with recent skills in Oracle eBusiness release R12.
• Practical knowledge of parallel concurrent processing, tracing and debugging, defining concurrent managers and concurrent programs, managing database and applications security
• Knowledge and experience with multi-node and multi-tier application environments, load-balancing of eBusiness system, Oracle RAC, OBIEE, and Weblogic server
• BS in Computer Science or related degree
• Certification in Oracle 8i or higher
Additional Relevant Skills:
• OS: HPUX, Linux, and Windows Server
• Languages: PL/SQL, SQL, UNIX Shell scripting, Java
• Databases: Oracle 11g/10g
• Experience with tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, custom-scripting, Toad or SQL Developer. Exposure to tools/utilities such as Oracle BI, Discoverer, Workflow Builder
