Instrument Designer - Stockport - Contract - £NEGWe are currently sourcing an Instrument Designer to be based in Stockport on a 6 month contract
Duties will involve:
Production of design drawings using SmartPlant Instrumentation and Microstation
Review drawings for accuracy, compatibility, consistency, and for compliance with design criteria and overall project requirements.
Assist with production design work with discipline Engineers, including meetings and design reviews.
The ability to produce cable and tray routing diagrams, block cable diagrams, electrical schematics, instrument loop diagrams, cable schedules etc.
The ability to read and understand P&IDs, Mechanical GA`s and Piping drawings, Civil drawings is essential.
A good working knowledge of ATEX and hazardous area applications.
Person Requirements:
Be proficient in Autocad and Microstation CAD systems.
Sound knowledge of instrument drawing office produced deliverables
INtools database or 3D modelling experience would also be beneficial.
Conceptual Design, Drawing Production, Mathematics, Computing, Graphical Presentation, Communication in English
Self motivated inventive design skills, Drafting, Layout and Graphical Skills
Experience with 3D modelling systems such as PDS, PDMS or AutoPlant.
Experience with advanced engineering design and data systems such as SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Foundation, SmartPlant Instrumentation.
Essential SmartPlant Instrumentation with preferably a working knowledge of PDMS.
Previous experience of Microstation will be preferred, but is not essential. Substantial Process Plant design experience.
