We are looking for a Project Manager with Civil engineering and Aquatic environment experience for a 5 month contract based in Edinburgh.

The project manager is intended to support the development of a number of projects undertaken by environmental organisations and agencies including the removal of barriers to fish migration typically through the construction of a fish ladder or the removal of the barrier.

You will be required to work various environmental organisations to identify the person/organisation who should be legal responsible for the work and then work with them to:
-Make applications to the restoration fund;
-Make applications for CAR licences;
-Make applications for planning permission;
-Put contracts out to tender;
-Appoint contractors;
-Manage contractors to ensure successful delivery of projects;
-Coordinate the work of a range of partners, particularly in relation to landowner negotiation.

The ideal candidate will have/be:
-Experience of managing civil engineering projects relating to the aquatic environment;
-Excellent communication skills;
-Well organised, methodical, able to manage a number of parallel projects;
-Clean and valid driving licence and their own vehicle.
-An understanding of in stream engineering, particularly barriers to fish migration.
