RF Systems Engineer - 12 Month Contact - Defence - Edinburgh
Defence company in Edinburgh are looking for a RF Systems Engineer on a 12 month contract.

Knowledge
It is essential that the candidate has electronic skills compatible with their degree. Experience at a senior engineer level in design of RF/Microwave circuits and sub-systems is also essential. An understanding of radar systems would be desirable.
This should include current practical experience in one or more of the following areas:-
ADC, DAC, DDS, PLL, active/passive RF/microwave design, RF PCB, RF/microwave down conversion and up conversion, synthesiser architecture or receiver architecture.
The candidate should be familiar with current industry standard ECAD tools. It is desirable that the candidate has expert knowledge in AWR Microwave office, Agilent system vue or matlab/simulink.
It is essential that the candidate has expert knowledge in using Agilent ADS for RF system simulation.
Skills
The candidate is required to have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team. It is desirable for the candidate to have experience of budgets, cost reporting, project planning and subcontractor technical management.
Key responsibility areas
The successful candidate would be responsible for the engineering and technical aspects of RF design and/ or receiver circuits and systems in design, design support for manufacturing and development test.
Intrinsic job factors
This is mainly an office based role using display screen equipment, however the successful candidate may also have to work in a development lab, production area and occasionally in a clean room environment. The successful candidate will be expected to work full time hours in a flexible and often demanding environment.
The nature of the programs involving receiver design means that any candidate being considered for the position must be capable of achieving full SC security clearance and in addition the candidate will require access to caveated information such as UK eyes only and ITAR.
