The Quality Assurance Engineer will be teamed with Software Engineers and Product Management to develop and execute a comprehensive test strategy to deliver high quality commercial software. Must have proven "shrink-wrap" product experience. This is a permanent/direct hire opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Work from use cases and functional design specifications to deliver detail test planning, test environment preparation, test procedures and test cases.
- Hands on execution of functional, system and regression tests
- Deliver key input to high level test planning and process improvement Identify, log, track and re-test software defects
- Deliver regular test status and test summary reports Maintain a clear understanding and focus on key factors underlying the project, commercial/market drivers, business imperative, business strategy alignment, and customer needs.
Qualifications
- 3+ years full life cycle QA experience (from concept to deployment and on-going support)
- 3+ years with commercially available defect tracking tools
- 2+ years experience with automated testing tools (Test Complete a plus)
- 2+ years experience with GUI and API level testing
- Strong experience in software defect and issue management workflow.
- Strong risk management skills
- Software/hardware installation, configuration and maintenance for test environments.
- Proven "shrink-wrap" product experience/delivered product experience; someone who has delivered and worked on multiple products at once
- Proven track record of delivering assignments on schedule with accurate reporting & metrics.
- Proven track record developing test plans, test specification and test cases.
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Experience testing or using ESRI ArcGIS or ArcGIS Server a plus
- SDLC experience with Agile or related development process a plus
- Experience with VMware considered a plus
- Must be able to succeed in a multi-task environment
