We have a great long term contract opportunity for an Instructional Designer with strong IT knowledge/background, in the South Denver area for a large client of ours. This is a great opportunity to work with a solid company. They are located close to I25 and E470.

The Instructional Designer duties include:
- Create technical training courses, including: research, design, and development of content.
- Design comprehensive blended learning programs consisting of E-learning, instructor lead training both traditional and virtual classroom, hands-on lab exercises and job aids following the Educational Services Development Process.
- Work with multi-media developers to determine design, content and graphic presentation of learning objects to assure effective instructional design.
- Deliver Train-the-Trainer sessions for any instructor led courses developed.
- Maintain project schedule for course development and attend weekly Educational Services program meeting.
- Identify hardware and software requirements for hands-on exercises.
- Coordinate with engineering to deliver knowledge transfer sessions for each product release cycle. - Represent Educational Services at any assigned program meetings.

Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in all aspects of instructional design (research, analysis, design, development, delivery, and evaluation) of both print and electronically delivered training deliverables.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with technical course development.
- Proven technical aptitude in developing training.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related technical field required.
- Master's degree in Instructional Technology, Education, Organizational Development or other related field a plus.

Technical aptitude and experience with the following a plus:
- Unix system administration and troubleshooting skills on multiple Unix platforms - Solaris, HPUX and Linux
- Microsoft Windows system administration and troubleshooting
- VMWare
- DXi product series
- StorNexts and/or SAMFS
- Fibre channel, iSCSI and SCSI technology, networking and SAN
- SumTotal Systems or other LMS/LCMS

Essential job functions require the following:
- Extensive use of a computer.
- Ability to read product documentation, knowledgebase articles etc, both in printed and electronic format.
- Occasional travel to other sites will be required.
- Working in a computer lab environment, installing and troubleshooting software and hardware used for courses.
- Working in a team environment, sharing ideas and accepting input from others.
- Ability to work extended hours to meet critical product release deadlines.
- Working in an open office environment.
- Working closely with a global team with members in Asia, Europe and North America.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic business environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Assertive, yet professional communication to cross functional teams regarding deadlines and resource commitments.
