This position is an excellent opportunity for an Security Project Manager to work with one of our most dynamic Fortune 100 clients. You will manage multiple small to mid-level projects within the IT organization, and have overall responsibility for the delivery of projects within budget and schedule. Providing accurate status reporting, forecasting and client communications are important aspects of this position.

The Security Project Manager responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of client and server systems, networks, applications, databases and electronic information, and to protect the systems from security violations, access or destruction.
- Assist with implementing IT security policies covering protocols, applications, networks, client and server systems, personnel and other risk management mechanisms.
- Apply skills, tools, and techniques to project activities in order to meet or exceed client needs and expectations.
- Conduct risk assessment to determine security vulnerability, and make recommendations for application design, systems development and risk mitigation.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management, including security findings, recommendations, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies.
- Perform technical reviews of documentation to ensure computer security integration and compliance with regulations (NERC CIP, SOX, ISO, etc.).
- Deliver security projects on time, within budget, with a high degree of quality and in agreement with stated client requirements and objectives.
- Define and prioritize project requirements as well as develop time and cost estimates, project plans, and budgets.
- Develop, monitor, and coordinate project activities, such as scheduling, tracking, and reporting; assess the impact of planned changes and builds contingency plans to support the change efforts.
- Provide work direction and leadership to assigned projects, including scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project efforts.
- Monitor project milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule.
- Develop strategy and ensure integration of project plans and overall execution.
- Assess variances from the project plan, gathers metrics, and develops and implements changes as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost, and quality objectives.

Security Project Manager required skills include
- At least 5 years of Security Engineering and Network IT experience
- Strong understanding of networking and network protocols analyzers (ie Sniffer Pro, Wireshark, tcpdump, libcap, Ethereal), Buffer overflows, SQL injections and other advanced hacks, deep application layer inspection (ie HTTP), VPN, Security scanner products (ie Foundscan, eEye Retina, Nessus, Nmap, Qualys, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of information securities risks and counter measures for Windows and Unix/Linux platforms is necessary. Deep knowledge of Cisco Firewalls, ASA, ACS, Routers, TACACS is required.
- 3+ years of documented Project Management experience in a complex infrastructure security environment is required.
- Must have traditional project management skill set including the ability to build schedules, create and manage issue and risk logs, manage project financials, manage scope change requests, etc.
- Successful experience managing small to medium network projects.
- The ability to understand business objectives and how to meet those objectives essential. Basic Project Management and Team Leadership skills are needed, along with good communication skills.
- You must be able to work with all levels of management.
- Desirable skills include knowledge of and experience with: Distributed UNIX and WINTEL platforms, Citrix, SAN Storage, NAS Storage, VM Ware, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and large Data Networks.
- Experience managing multiple vendors and third parties and managing project scope ensuring proper escalation for issues and risks is essential.
- Strong knowledge of issues and dependencies on infrastructure projects and experience planning and controlling small to medium infrastructure projects is a must.
- CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional, CCSP - Certified Cisco Security professional, desired
