Our client in Mayfield Village, OH is currently seeking a IT Quality Assur Anlyt Sr for a 12 month contract opening.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a senior-level Quality Assurance Analyst (QAA) position where experience, skills and knowledge include a thorough understanding of practices, policies and procedures and are applied to complete tasks. Responsible for following procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements. Executes and documents the testing of software/applications to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects for projects with large and diverse scope. Works independently and may provide guidance on complex issues to others. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Creates more complex automation scripts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Specific responsibilities and % of time may differ depending on the needs of the department and/or the needs of the business area being supported.)

100% Responsibilities include:

  • Interacts closely with business customers and technical peers in the system analysis process and may develop requirements.
  • Develops and documents testing standards, best practices and ensures they are communicated and applied.
  • Defines and documents test plans for new/existing systems to projects with large-sized, diverse scope and increased complexity.
  • Manually creates and input test data or uses tools, programs or extracted production data to execute test cases.
  • Participates at requirements reviews, design reviews, system analysis and facilitates the testing review process. May lead the requirements or design effort as they relate to testing.
  • Evaluates risks associated with test plans and makes recommendations for alternative testing approaches.
  • Reviews test plans, test cases and test scripts of other team members.
  • Provides coaching and feedback to other Quality Assurance Analysts.
  • Modifies test plans in accordance with changing requirements.
  • Determines if manual and/or automated test tools should be used to execute test cases and uses automated test tools to execute the testing process. Creates automated test scripts and shares with others. Makes recommendations and/or implements additional automated test tool opportunities within area. Creates/maintains processes and documentation for tool maintenance.
  • Ensuring that standards for production applications are followed. Supports improvements in overall quality results through the use of statistical measurements and tools.
  • Provides statistical analysis to aid in process changes and recommendations to management and or customers.
  • Assists in defining measurable goals for work/project team. Analyzes measurement data.
  • Performs in-depth analysis and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Executes test quality assurance responsibilities and associated functions for projects (requirements, risk assessment, estimating, test approach, reviews, overall organization and coordination of testing activities, implementation handoff, post elevate support, analyst support, usability, etc.).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in an information technology, or related discipline, which could include Computer Science, Information Systems (IS) or Management Information Systems (MIS). In lieu of a degree, at least 4 years in a professional IT-related and/or business-related role.

Working Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in software quality assurance and testing of multiple applications with significant size, scope and complexity (ie Sales, Servicing, Finance, Billing Applications, etc.) is required
  • Strong technical aptitude and proven analytical skills required. Demonstrates the ability to understand technical requirements, concepts and procedures.
  • Proven application of industry-standards, methodology, and terminology relating to software quality assurance and testing.
  • Demonstrated ability at advanced troubleshooting and problem solving issues and able to pay close attention to details.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, negotiate and influence others.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) within team environment, business contacts, and managers.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
