Principal Designer job #2693 – Akron/Canton, Ohio
Local manufacturer in the Canton area is seeking a Principal Designer to fill a Contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Designs will be created and maintained in CAD design files.
- Maintain design files for design projects.
- Create CAD documentation for design (detail and assembly drawings).
- Perform tolerance analysis for all portions of the design.
- Interface with the Central Manufacturing Organization to support their efforts.
- Supply CAD information to manufacturing engineering for them to develop work instructions.
- Assist with prototype builds and analysis. Redesign as necessary.
- Support pilot build and manufacturing startup as required.
- Will check work of other associates who are at an equivalent or lesser job classification.
- Will receive assignments from engineers and/or department manager.
- Support creation by other designers of both Engineering Change Requests (ECR's) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN's)
Requirements:
- Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Eight or more years of Engineering CAD experience working with Development and Manufacturing
- Must be experienced with Personal Computers.
- Must have an “investigative” mind as well as being a good decision maker.
- Must be able to develop designs based on specifications and concepts ranging from simple to complex in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines using CAD
