Job Description:
A Monitoring System Engineer provides support and daily administration of clients Monitoring Systems. This individual is responsible for the operational management of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager for production, staging, and development systems in North America. Responsibilities also involve providing monitoring designs for project implementations, supporting operational issues, providing training and assistance to users and coworkers. The System Engineer will interface with other engineers across various areas to resolve issues and to share technical and customer information.
Job Responsibilities.
Knowledge and experience with administering SCCM and SCOM tools.
Serve as a centralized resource for monitoring applications to ensure availability targets; manage the systems to achieve 24x7 availability.
Analyze, interpret, and communicate complex system solutions.
Provide guidance on Monitoring best practices.
Communicate regularly and effectively throughout internal IT groups (verbally and written).
Efficiently and creatively solve difficult, complex problems and have the ability to accurate define the amount of information that must be gathered for problem solving.
Anticipate/proactively work to circumvent roadblocks to solutions.
Analyze trends/data and produce weekly/monthly reports to Support manager
Provide outstanding services to all customers, both internal and external; work collaboratively with other support teams to ensure a seamless service; work closely with remote support team also providing 24X7 Server Support
Understanding of Data Center architecture design and management.
Work closely with the application, operating system, storage, network and development groups to ensure business continuity.
Interface with various internal and external business units to ensure the initiatives of the Internet technology group will support the success of the business and maximize customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
BA, BS preferred.
Experience:
At least 4 years of Monitoring Systems Engineering experience.
At least 2 years experience supporting Microsoft Monitoring Products; strong application monitoring desired
Competencies/Skills:
Strong problem solving, decision making, planning/organizing and communication skills required.
Ability to manage pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Candidates must also have functional and technical expertise, adaptability and flexibility, strong attention to detail, be customer focused, and work well in teams.
Effective management, customer service, and organizational skills required.
Accomplishments: (Degrees, Certifications, Languages):
BA, BS or equivalent preferred.
MCSA, MCSE, MCITP certifications preferred.
Work Environment:
Work under pressure with time constraints; regular change in work tasks/duties; provide support off normal business hours.
